Working at The University Club of Western Australia (or “The Club” as its known to its staff and members) is an exciting and fulfilling opportunity for people following many different career paths. The Club offers many various forms of on or off site training, as well as the experience of working in a highly team-oriented hospitality and business facility. The standards you will be exposed to will be world class, accommodating all forms of employees, from chefs to receptionist, and bar staff to events coordinators. All staff at The Club are treated with equal respect, and diverse and equitable workplace practices are strongly adhered to at all times.

The unique “members only” element of The Club allows employees to grow and develop in a very prominent and well known atmosphere. Why Work at The Club?

Holidays
There are not many hospitality venues that are closed over the Christmas and New Years period – but we are! Enjoy the benefits of spending the Christmas break with family and friends. We are also closed most Sundays and public holidays.

Training
The University Club provides a range of internal and external training programs for staff to learn and develop their skills. The Club’s policy is to promote from within and our training programs ensure our future supervisors and managers are identified and given the appropriate training and support.

Carparking
Where else do you get carparking at only $7.50 per week. That’s just $1.50 a day!

Staff Social Activites
The Employee Relations Committee organises a staff function every 2 months. Previous activities have included go-karting, lawn bowls, wine cruises, BBQs and quiz nights. The committee also organises charity fundraisers and prizes.

Meals
We provide meals on duty – choose from sandwiches, rolls and salads through to hot food selections and dessert!

Recognition
Reward and recognition is important. Team Member of the Month and Magic Moments Awards recognise those staff that go the extra mile for our Members.

Uniform
A uniform is provided to all staff and a laundry allowance may be payable or drycleaning offered.

Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
We take Corporate Responsibility seriously at the Club and contribute to the community through charity fundraisers including Breast Cancer Foundation, National Heart Foundation and Jeans for Genes Day.

Work Experience & Industry Placements

The University Club is pleased to assist those wanting to gain experience in the hospitality industry by offering to host work experience and industry placement students. This provides valuable experience in a range of different areas including Café, Banqueting, Kitchen and Administration.
