Gary Ellis Gary has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and Club environments, working as a Group Executive Chef and General Manager of exclusive clubs, restaurants and hotels around the world. He joined the Club from his previous position as General Manager of the private Macquarie Links International Golf Club in Sydney. Julie Harrison Julie has over 10 years experience in the hotel industry specialising in events management, as well as an Honours degree from UWA. She has worked at Hyatt Regency Perth, Sheraton Perth Hotel and Bells Estate, and was most recently employed as Conference and Events Manager for Macdonald Hotels and Resorts in Scotland. Steve Floyd Having served his professional training years with Ernst & Young, Steve moved to London to work in a financial executive role with progressive home furnishings group, The Malabar Cotton Company for 7 years, before returning to South Africa. Since 1995 Steve has gained extensive all-round experience in the hospitality industry operating his own distribution and retailing businesses specialising in craft beers and cheeses, before immigrating and taking up employment with the Club in June 2005. Hannah Davey Hannah graduated from the University of Western Australia, completing a Bachelor of Commence and a Bachelor of Arts in 2005. She joins the University Club from her previous role in the Human Resources team at Cable Beach Club Resort, Broome. Hannah has six years experience in the hospitality industry, with a background in front-of-house hospitality operations. Costa Simatos Costa Simatos gained a wealth of experience working in 5 star hotels before settling here in Perth. Costa has most recently been with the Perth Convention Centre since its opening as Executive Sous Chef and previous to this spent 8 years as the Executive Chef at Hilton hotels in both Kuwait and South Africa. Costa has many years experience working in the Middle East, South Africa, London, India, Macau and Australia. Costa’s food is influenced by a combination of his Greek heritage, the multi-cultural flavours of South Africa and his Middle Eastern travels. Myles Harrison Myles joined the University Club in August and has had over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Myles is well travelled and has worked in various venues around the world including his most recent position at the prestigious Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin. In Perth, Myles has worked for many well known establishments such as the Western Australian Club, Mulberry on Swan, Heyder and Shears and The Hyatt Perth where he started his career. Nicole Burchett Nicole has had over 10 years experience in Corporate Sales and Marketing for the Hospitality and Tourism Industry in Western Australia. Nicole started her career with The Melbourne Hotel and has gone on to work for a wide range of organizations including Australia’s South West, Mirvac Hotels and Resorts, Aarons Hotels and Resorts and Little Creatures Brewing. |
