The Architect

Geoff Warn is a partner of Donaldson + Warn, Architects which was established in 1985. The practice has been commissioned for a wide variety of projects and has received numerous awards and citations for architecture, urban design and interior design including the national BHP Steel Award for Architecture, the Premier’s Award for Civic Design, two Temple-Poole Awards for Architecture, a national Urban Design award, an Industry and Export Award and the prodigious British Airways Tourism for Tomorrow award.

Crossing Midfield, the title of a monograph of the practice’s work, was published in 2000 by the distinguished Swiss publisher Birkhauser. The work of Donalson+Warn,Architects has been extensively published nationally and internationally.

In addition to a Masters in Architecture from RMIT University Geoff Warn has a BA in Comparative Literature. He is the chairman of IASKA, an international art space and gallery in the Western Australian wheatbelt, a board member of The Bureau of Ideas and a registered builder.

Geoff was awarded the 1990 John Flower Fellowship to investigate the use of plastics in architecture and travel to U.S.A and in 1991 attended the first Domus Academy Winter School in Melbourne, conducted by acclaimed architects and designers from Italy. In 2003 he was a guest presenter at APECO an international environmental design conference held in Malaysia

He has been the design director for numerous significant projects that include the Bali Memorial, the internationally awarded Tree Top Walk in Walpole, the Lotterywest Federation Walkway in Kings Park

Geoff Warn has taught extensively at both schools of architecture in Perth and has lectured in Melbourne, Sydney, Berkeley (USA) and has undertaken many collaborative projects with local artists. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia, an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at Curtin University, and was Adjunct Professor to the School of Fine Arts at Curtin University.
